Location:
Also known as ~ Kanha Tiger Reserve, this National Park is the Largest National Park of Madhya Pradesh. It is the first tiger reserve of India to announce a mascot – ‘Bhoorsingh, The Barasingha’ indicating the global reputation for protecting rare Swamp Deer from extinction.
Tribal communities ~ Gonda and Baigas originally inhabited these Sal and Bamboo forests. It is also a home to around 300 species of resident and migratory birds. The eagle, red jungle fowl, common peafowl, bee-eater, Indian roller, racquet-tailed drongo, Indian grey hornbill and the Malabar pied hornbill are some of the rare species that can be spotted in the lush greens.
The entire safari experience is far more fulfilling here, as a 7 km nature trail leads into the forest from the Khatiya gate, countless beasts venture in this area. Bird watching, trekking, jeep safaris, bonfire and tribal dance shows are bonus attractions for the travelers.
